Despite the unpleasant weather that we have been experiencing we had an amazing turnout of 11 vans  challenging the weather and what a winner the weather turned out to be.

So, after lots of chatting, arranging and excitement, the Halloween Camp Out is over.... Our first attempt at 'Hosting'....Date Set....tick, Venue...tick, Theme...tick.... Remembering our Year to Date Camping Theme's....this was going to be a hard act to follow. But, in true Laager 18 Style camp out 19th and 20th October 2019 – Halloween, was a Blast.

FRIDAY – It was a lovely warm evening when we arrived at camp about 18h00. Some campers had arrived earlier, were all set up, and ready for the weekend. The rest of the laager arrived soon thereafter

L1 - Queensburgh 8 to 10 November

Time certainly has a way of flying past you, as it feels like just the other day (a year ago) we had started talks around the camp fire regarding Laager 18 Hosting the 2019 NAGM. Testament to the above, here I am putting pen to paper with our newsletter.

Miller’s Point Municipal Caravan Park is located 5 km south of Simonstown on the road to Cape Point. The campsites are located in such a way that one has uninterrupted views across False Bay, and direct access to the small but tranquil and beautiful beach below. Views from the road above are of impressively large boulders along the coastline, sheltered swimming areas which include beautiful turquoise to blue waters and secluded nooks. At times, the beautiful water looks more like they belong to some far-away tropical island!

We had a wonderful long weekend at Van Stadens. The weather was amazing the whole weekend.  We all enjoyed the sun, long walks on the beach and sand boarding.

We had 10 vans at the camp & then on Saturday we were up to 12. I think a lot of our members...

It gives me great pleasure to report on the events and achievements accomplished by this amazing organization, which has forged, through its loyal members, long-lasting relationships which is absent in many sectors of Southern African society.

L1 - Marlon 20-24 Sept

Apologies for delay in sending this through … had just a few things going on at one time. Helloooo everyone, Friday the Ramsay’s were all set up and ready – just waiting for school time to end for the boys.

Thursday’s doings will remain with those who were there, as we only arrived on Friday, whilst everyone was out & about exploring. It is so difficult to describe the beauty which De Watergat holds, so one takes pics to hold onto this beauty, but it just doesn’t come near to the fullness of a De Watergat experience. De Watergat is ‘asemrowend’! And its beauty is taken to its fullest, when time is spent with our extended familia.

L9 - July Newsletter

In a change of scenery this year the birthday bash was held at Ou Skip. Unfortunately, we were not able to be there Friday night but I believe it was cold and everybody tried to huddle around the campfires to keep warm. Saturday morning some intrepid members decided to test their driving skills in going on a 4x4 trip in the dunes in Melkbos. Some went to breakfast at their favorite spots in the town. This year
